Hydrostatic Testing
A pressure test where pipes are filled with water and pressurized to 1.5 times the design pressure to verify structural integrity and leak-tightness before dispatch.
Hydrostatic Testing
Every seamless pipe manufactured at Stancor undergoes hydrostatic testing as per ASTM A530 requirements. The pipe is sealed, filled with water mixed with corrosion inhibitor, and pressurized to the specified test pressure.
Test Parameters
- Test pressure: 1.5x design pressure (per ASTM)
- Hold time: Minimum 5 seconds per ASTM
- Medium: Water with corrosion inhibitor
- Maximum pressure: Up to 1000 bar
