Ultrasonic Testing
An NDT method using high-frequency sound waves to detect internal flaws, measure wall thickness, and characterize material properties in pipes and tubes.
UT for Pipe Inspection
Ultrasonic testing uses piezoelectric transducers to send high-frequency sound waves through the pipe wall. Internal defects, inclusions, or variations in wall thickness cause reflections that are analyzed to determine defect size and location.
Methods
- Shear wave — Detects longitudinal defects
- Longitudinal wave — Measures wall thickness
- Phased array — Advanced multi-angle inspection
