A nickel-copper alloy (UNS N04400) with excellent resistance to seawater, hydrofluoric acid, and alkaline solutions, widely used in marine and chemical processing.
Monel 400
Monel 400 is a solid-solution nickel-copper alloy that is resistant to many corrosive environments including seawater, hydrofluoric acid, sulfuric acid, and alkaline solutions. It retains good mechanical properties at sub-zero temperatures.
Composition
- Nickel: 63% min
- Copper: 28-34%
- Iron: 2.5% max
